Weaving stories of roots and contemporary design
Brand Identity for a handmade interior brand in Germany
About
The journey with Yasemin to uncover her brand identity was both rich and meaningful. Through tailored exercises, we helped bring her core values to the surface, structure her narrative, define her brand strategy, and translate everything into a distinctive visual identity and original logo.
Based in Cologne, Germany, Yasemin founded Yamïn, a name drawn from the affectionate nickname her uncle once used for her. The brand focuses on handmade home products, primarily kilims and accessories crafted through fair and ethical practices.
Yamïn is a textile lab that combines contemporary aesthetics with ethical values and female artisan traditions. Each kilim and accessory is made by women artisans and carries a story of connection, care, and creativity, bringing elements of Middle Eastern culture into European homes.
Yasemin envisioned a space rooted in identity: presence, empathy, attention to detail, and a subtle balance between modern expression and cultural heritage.

Logo concept
The original logo draws inspiration from the structure of a rug, translating it into a graphic element: a pattern influenced by optical art, rigorous and linear, set in deliberate contrast with a softer, rounded typeface. At its centre, an eye becomes the semantic and symbolic focal point.
In the visual language of Middle Eastern kilims, the eye is associated with femininity, intuition, and protection. Here, it subtly contrasts with the traditionally masculine symbolism of hands: the invisible strength of women made visible through form.
Each woven line is conceived to convey values, heritage, and craftsmanship.

Brand colors and palette
For Yamïn, we chose a fresh and unexpected color palette, deliberately stepping away from the conventions of the luxury textile sector, often dominated by gold, brown, and deep purple.
Blue builds space and depth, inviting the eye to linger on the geometric complexity of the woven patterns.
Pink injects creative energy and brings a sense of lightness and modernity.
Green grounds the identity, recalling nature, slowness, and conscious choices.
Together, these colors create a visual identity that feels young, distinctive, and confidently unconventional. Instantly recognisable, and far from forgettable.
In Yasemin’s words
From the very beginning, I was struck by the simplicity and clarity of the logo. It feels contemporary and timeless at the same time. I could immediately picture my website, Instagram, and packaging with this design, which made the decision feel completely natural. You truly captured the meaning and essence of the kilims, and that means a lot to me. Thank you for translating not only the essence of the brand, but also my vision so accurately. I’m deeply grateful for your work and excited to take the next step.
